Choosing between MetaTrader and the browser on a Mac
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are available for both Windows and macOS, so a Mac is not limited to a browser window. The desktop build keeps chart templates, indicator settings and window layouts on the machine itself, which suits a Mac that stays on one desk and is used for the same routine every day.
The browser platform takes the opposite approach. Nothing is installed, the session opens from the Personal Area, and the state lives with the account rather than with the computer. On a MacBook that moves between an office and home, or on a machine where software installation needs approval, that is often the simpler path.
Time zone shapes the decision too. At UTC+4 the European open falls around midday and the North American open in the early evening, so a Mac that is only available after working hours will mostly be used for the later part of the day. Both routes reach the same account, and switching between them does not require anything to be moved by hand.
